More than 2,000 people in the city’s fan zone watched England’s historic 2-1 triumph in the Women’s Euros

Thousands of fans, including the former England youth player Stacey Copeland, gathered in central Manchester to cheer England to a dramatic 2-1 victory against Germany in the final of the Women’s Euros 2022 on Sunday evening.

After a closely fought match that went to extra time, there was euphoria in the crowd as England took the lead, capping off a watershed tournament that began with a match against Austria just a few miles east, at Manchester United’s Old Trafford.
