KEEPING up with the latest designer trends is often hard on your spending.
But an old pair of jeans can be brought bang up to date with some cheap adjustments.
Try these tips to restyle your denim.
SHORTS: Top designers in- cluding Prada have helped thrust denim shorts of all shapes into the spotlight.
It is easy to turn a tired pair of jeans into shorts. Mark where you want to cut and add a couple of inches if you want a rollover at the bottom, which can be kept in place with a few stiches. Or skip the rollover, for a distressed look.
UTILITY JEANS: Denim dungarees, jumpsuits and cargo jeans are likely to be everywhere this year as the utilitarian look has a moment.

Try sewing extra pockets to a pair of baggy jeans to recreate a similar look. You can buy denim pockets of all different styles from etsy.com. We found a pack of four for £6.41.
INDIGO WASH: Dark denim is in this year after being spotted on the catwalks of Gucci and other brands.
You can dye a pair of faded jeans with Dylon’s jeans blue hand dye, £4.79, from Robert Dyas, or Rit Indigo all-purpose liquid dye, £6.99, from ritdye.store.co.uk.
FLARED JEANS: Ultra-flared jeans are a big shape for 2024. If you are a bit nifty with a needle and thread, you can turn a pair of straight-leg jeans into flares with some scraps of old material.

You can even use lace or contrasting material to make the flares. There are lots of YouTube tutorials available that can guide you through the exact process.
JEAN EMBELLISHMENTS: Stella McCartney and Versace have embraced embellished denim this season. Think studs, embroidery and sparkles added to your jeans.
You can use old jewellery for the job — play around with different patterns before sticking on with fabric glue.
