THE cost of everyday toiletries is creeping up, so it’s more important than ever to make the most of what you have.
From careful storage to pump dispensers, these tricks can help you save . . .
CUT THE COST: When something is running low and it’s tough to squeeze it out of the tube, just cut open the packaging and scoop or squeeze out the rest.
You will be surprised how much is still in the tube.
Another option is to invest £3.99 in the Upcircle tube squeezer key, which you can get at Amazon.co.uk.
Slip it on to the end of the tube and turn like a key to get every last bit.
STORE ’N’ SAVE: Think about where you keep your products to make them last longer.
While shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are fine in the bathroom, keep creams and perfumes or aftershaves in bedrooms, or away from high humidity or sunlight as they will spoil.
PUMP IT UP: If your toiletries come in a bottle, consider purchasing a pump dispenser.
This will help you control the amount of product you use and avoid waste.
Try recycling your handwash bottle and using it for shower gel instead.

You will be surprised at how much less you start to use every time.
DROP THE PRICE: You can dilute certain products such as shampoo or body wash with water to make them last longer.
Adding a dash of water can also help dislodge any product that has become stuck at the bottom of the bottle.
If your nail polish also gets a bit sticky, add a few drops of nail polish remover to the bottle and shake, to make it go further.
STICK TO SOLIDS: Shampoo and soap bars can end up lasting longer than their liquid counterparts, as you use less each time and they are good for the planet as many use less packaging and plastic.
Try the Eco Warrior Deeply Nourishing Shampoo Bar, usually £4.50, now £3.37 at Boots.
