Mia Munro, a savvy student shopper from Leeds, shared her top Poundland beauty buys with money-saving community Latest Deals.

She said, “When you think of where to go for beauty, Poundland may not immediately spring to mind!”

“But, I’ve found a few really good buys from there that rival luxury products”.

The first dupe Mia found was Thierry Mugler Angel fragrance which has notes of cherry orange blossom and vanilla.

Mia said: “A 100ml bottle of Angel will set you back £130.”

“I’ve found Poundland’s White Light scent doesn’t last as long, but has a really similar scent for just £1 a bottle.

“I wear it for work and save the real thing for special occasions”.

The next dupe Mia found was for the popular YSL’s Black Opium.

The provocative perfume has a captivating floral gourmand scent, twisted with dark, roasted notes of black coffee paired with sensual vanilla.

But Mia’s dupe is £124 cheaper than the original.

She continued, “If you’re a fan of YSL’s Black Opium scent, Poundland’s Dark Aura has a really similar vibe.”

“The real thing is £125 a bottle. Poundland’s alternative is just £1”.

The third designer dupe Mia spotted in the discount store was a Jo Malone dupe.

Mia said, “Jo Malone perfumes are some of my favourites, but they are really expensive. “

“Luckily Poundland has a dupe for the unisex Pomegranate Noir scent, one of Jo Malone’s best sellers which costs £118.

“Poundland’s Number 28 Rich Pomegranate is just £4 for 100ml”.

If you like Marc Jacobs Daisy Poundland has an affordable dupe for that too.

Mia said: “For Marc Jacobs Daisy lovers, there’s Poundland’s Golden Blooms.”

“You can normally get Daisy on offer, but it still usually costs around £78, whereas Poundland’s is just £1”.

You’ll find it has similar notes of wild berries, jasmine and sandalwood.

The final Poundland dupe Mia found was for the men’s fragrance from Paco Rabanne.

She said: “Poundland’s Mighty Pour Homme is a dupe for Paco Rabanne’s One Million.

“The real thing is £81 for the 100ml bottle. Poundland’s is just £1, so well worth a try if you’re a fan of the original”.

It’s worth checking out Aldi and Lidl as the discounters often produce their own designer fragrance dupes too.

Perfume insider reveals dupes worth buying

THE Sun asked an independent perfume expert to carry out blind smell tests of popular perfumes and their high street “dupes” to see if the budget versions lived up to the originals.

Noemie Maury is a senior fragrance evaluator who has worked with major fine fragrance and toiletries brands for over a decade.

High street chains can create perfumes cheaply by buying them from big fragrance manufacturers which grow their own ingredients in-house,” says Noemie.

“Because they use oils from flowers they grow themselves instead of importing ingredients, they save on costs and can create fragrances for high street brands at a discount price.”
