SONY is rolling out a huge free upgrade to millions of PlayStation owners.
This week’s new PS5 system update makes some big changes – including a surprise boost for DualSense controllers.

The update was announced back in February but Sony has now started beaming it down to PS5 consoles around the world.
There are three big key changes that PlayStation gamers need to take note of.
DUALSENSE UPGRADE
Some of the biggest changes are coming to the DualSense and DualSense edge controllers.
For a start, the speakers in the controllers can now reach higher volumes.
Sony says that this will allow you to “hear in-game sounds and voice chat audio more clearly”.
If you’re unhappy with the volume of sound coming from the controller, you can adjust this in settings.
Noise-cancellation on the DualSense controller’s microphone has also received an upgrade.
“The mic input quality on these controllers has been improved, courtesy of a new AI machine learning model,” Sony said.

SHARE SCREEN
The existing Share Screen feature has been upgraded.
Sony says that players watching Share Screen in full-screen mode will be able to use pointers and emoji reactions to react to gameplay.
This feature is switched on by default, but Share Screen hosts can turn it off in settings.
To see the feature, you’ll need to be participating in the PlayStation beta.
PS5 POWER
It’s now possible to adjust the brightness of the PS5 console’s power indicator.
You can change this at any time just by going into your settings.
Just go to Settings > System > Beep and Light > Brightness.
This could be a big perk if you struggle with the brightness of the light in a dark room.
FAN FAVORITES
PlayStation fans took to Reddit to reveal their thoughts on the new changes.
One gamer wrote: “Ahhh loves that we can finally lower the brightness of the power indicator.
“It was a bit annoying while watching movies in the dark.”
Another said: “It’s much better! At least in my opinion.”
And one added: “Definitely an improvement. You can pick between low/medium/high (high is standard and the light level it used to be at pre-patch).
“Low/medium are definitely nicer in a dimmed/dark room.”
But fans were disappointed that a feature is still missing.
