Coroner ruled that neglect contributed to Linda Doherty’s death from starvation amid blunders in 2017

The family of a woman who starved to death in hospital claim staff “lacked humanity” and let her “waste away” amid an array of medical blunders over her feeding.

The care Linda Doherty received was so poor that, in an unusual move, the coroner who investigated her death ruled that neglect by East Surrey hospital had contributed to it.
