And the flogger claims that the rare fast food item dates all the way back to 1986.

Despite it’s hefty price the seller has insisted the McDonald’s straw commands the eye-watering fee because it is a collector’s item.

And if you’re on the fence the four-figure item comes with free express delivery to sweeten the deal.

The listing reads, “Rare Vintage Plastic McDonald’s 1986 Design Straw – Still In wrapper – Unopened and in good condition for age.

“Care will be taken with postage to ensure safety in transit.”

McDonald’s ditched plastic straws for an environmentally-friendly paper option.

The straws were removed from all of its UK restaurants in May 2018 to make way for the paper version.

The free plastic straws given out by the restaurant were recyclable but the fast food giant took steps in the UK to make its packaging even more environmentally friendly.

But the switch was met with criticism after big-mac lovers found they went soggy after a couple of sips.

While other angry customers said that the new straws had changed how their drink tasted.

It’s not the first time a maccies straw was flogged on the internet though.

Back in 2021, eBay sellers were spotted flogging theirs for up to £4,500.

It comes as a McDonald’s fan has shared an easy way to buy a Big Mac for almost half the price.

In the video the saver revealed you can buy a Big Mac – which usually costs £4.09 – for £1.71 less.
