MILLIONS claiming disability benefits will get their £150 cost of living payments within weeks.
The one-off cash payment will start being paid to roughly six million people from September 20.

However, most will receive their payment by the beginning of October 2022, the government has said.
The payment comes as part of a raft of other supportive measures announced by then chancellor Rishi Sunak.
The £150 will help support vulnerable households amidst soaring energy bills and food costs.
The new price cap, coming into effect from October 1, is set to see the average household energy bill reach over £3,500.
Who’s eligible for the payment and how do I get it?
Around eight million households are set to get the £150 disability cost of living payment, but who is eligible?
You may get the lump sum if you’re receiving any of the following:
- Attendance Allowance
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance for adults
- Disability Living Allowance for children
- Personal Independence Payment
- Adult Disability Payment (in Scotland)
- Child Disability Payment (in Scotland)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- War Pension Mobility Supplement

Claimants must have received, or begun an eventually successful claim for one of the above benefits as of May this year to be eligible.
If you receive a disability benefit and are also on means-tested benefits, you’ll also get the £650 cost of living payment on top.
If you receive a disability cost of living payment but are later found to not be eligible for it, you may have to pay it back.
To receive the payment, you won’t have to do anything and the payments will be made automatically to anyone who qualifies.
You’ll be paid automatically in the same way you usually get your benefit or tax credits.
This is how the £650 cost of living payment is being made.
It’s not yet been confirmed what code will show up on your bank account when the £150 payment is made, but we have approached the Department for Work and Pensions and will update you.
