RISHI Sunak has junked Monday’s economic statement to make way for a full-fat Budget next month, No10 announced today.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will now deliver an Autumn Statement on November 17 – where he is expected to unleash spending cuts to plug a monster £40billion black hole in the public purse.

To calm jittery markets after Liz Truss’ shambolic premiership Mr Hunt is set to rein in borrowing by squeezing department Budgets.

Downing Street said: “The Prime Minister told Cabinet that economic stability and fiscal sustainability would be at the heart of this Government’s mission.

“He reinforced that this would require some very difficult decisions, but the Government would also act with compassion, protecting the most vulnerable and would continue to seek long-term growth.”
