FEELING a little bit run down? Whether you’re fighting off Covid or a cold, it might be time for some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
Go from “argggh” to “spa-aah” with these great tips . . .
WE’VE GOT IT SALTED: A salt bath is great for a pamper, and an Epsom salt bath is just the thing for tired limbs. But while Boots’ Westlab Pure Mineral Bathing Epsom Salt seems reasonable at £4.99 for 1kg, poundshop.com has a 450g bag with a spa-like vanilla scent for £1.
Buy two and get almost the same amount as the Boots offering for less than half the price. You could also add floating spa lights from prezzybox.co.uk at just £11.99. And Spotify has some great free “relaxing spa music” playlists to really set the mood.

MONEY-SAVING MASK: A soothing beauty face mask is a treat, but checking the ingredients and switching brands could save you dosh. Compare packets to see how similar they are.
I use Revolution’s Charcoal Purifying Mask, £7.95 at beautybay.com, instead of Body Shop’s similar Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask, £18. You could also make your own exfoliator from brown sugar and oil, then do a hydrating mask of honey, avocado and natural yoghurt. There are plenty of inspirational recipes on Pinterest.

GO PRO: Or get out of the house and book into an actual spa. A cheap trick is to book a treatment and the spa will usually let you use the facilities for an hour or two. Another is to get a great deal on voucher sites. A group of six can save ten per cent at spabreaks.com, or go to buyagift.co.uk and get a spa day with a treatment and tea for two — was £183, now £99.

HAIR WE GO: If you are unable to get to the hairdressers, do it yourself without forking out. I love Knight And Wilson PurePlex Hair Repair System, £8.95 at Superdrug, which works in a similar way to hairdresser favourite Olaplex No3, £26 at Cult Beauty.

CREATE a cosy space with this black lantern, £35, from The White Company. But I’d rather pick up Poundland’s great double, at a bargain £4.
