FAMILY days out have returned – but making sure the kids are entertained can be tricky.

If keeping the children busy is putting pressure on your purse, I’ve got some ideas to help you save money and still enjoy a trip to remember . . .

SIGN UP FOR A SUPERDAY: Sun Superdays are back, and this time Chessington World Of Adventures Resort tickets are up for grabs — perfect for a free family day out!

The resort is ideal for younger kids and even has a zoo to explore, as well as new rides Croc Drop and the latest Rainforest Land to enjoy. You can collect codes from the paper to get two free tickets.

Collect nine Savers codes before June 1 and you will be able to book via the Sun Savers app or at sunsavers.co.uk. Also, see today’s pullout for more details.

OLD TRUSTIES: From nature trails to medieval castles, National Trust locations are reopening.

Depending on the location, you may need to pay admission or book a time slot (to help maintain social distancing).

At Corfe Castle, Dorset, kids under five get in free and a family ticket costs £25 — admitting two adults plus up to three children for the price of two adults plus one child.

Many locations also host free activities aimed at kids once you are there, and the website has some fab ideas for DIY outdoor adventures. See what’s on and book in advance at nationaltrust.org.uk.

WOW YOURSELF: Voucher website Wowcher is great for finding great deals on local attractions. For example, I found a two-hour “alpaca experience” in Hampshire up for grabs.

Families are sure to enjoy meeting and greeting the alpacas then leading them on a harness walk around a farm. The voucher is for two and costs £25 instead of £50. You can also buy two additional sets of tickets.

WHAT A PLEASURE: The Blackpool Pleasure Beach theme park, which is celebrating its 125th year, is open again, with plenty to keep the children entertained.

If you book online before midnight the day before your planned trip, you can make a saving on tickets. For example, adults and over-12s can pre-book for £35 instead of £42 and those aged 11 and under can get tickets for £30 instead of £36.
