We’ve all been there – just when you need to use your phone the most, the battery dies.
But the days of scrambling for a charger could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to Energizer’s latest device.
The tech giant’s rugged new smartphone can last for nearly a week on a single charge – though it’s three times heavier than an iPhone.
With such a big battery, the Hard Case P28K by Energizer is unsurprisingly a brick-like device at around 3cm thick and weighing over half a kilogram.
But, after just an hour and a half charge, it could allow the chattiest of users to sit on the phone talking for 122 hours straight before running out.

Its standby time meanwhile – when the phone is on but not being used – is claimed to last over three months.
Energizer says it is built for users needing a long-lasting phone – such as hikers – rather than the latest tech.
Running out of phone battery while you’re out and about is the bane of many people’s lives.
While smartphones are equipped with increasingly powerful batteries, they are also using up far more power – with larger, brighter, and higher-resolution screens and more apps than ever running in the background.
The iPhone 15 for example – which weighs 171g and is just under 8mm thick – has a reported 3,349 milliampere-hour (mAh).

Tests by review website Tom’s Guide have found lasts around 11 hours of continuous web surfing on low screen brightness.
The battery in the Hard Case P28K in comparison is eight times more powerful at 28,000 mAh, giving it a talk time of 122 hours and standby time of 2252 hours.
Costing around £215, the device is just under 3cm thick, weighs 570grams, and can be fast charged in around 90 minutes.
The phone – which will go on sale in October this year – is fairly basic and cannot work with 5G.
It runs on Android 14, has 256GB of storage, good quality cameras on the front and back, and a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display.
