AN expert has revealed a number of potential hacks that could vastly boost internet speeds at home.
Since working from home became the new normal millions of Brits now rely on their domestic internet connection to complete important jobs.
From responding to emails to attending meetings and submitting reports, a decent internet connection is crucial to working from home.
Unfortunately many home workers become hugely frustrated when their internet slows down or worse during the day.
Now an expert at The Conversation has revealed a few hacks that can boost internet speeds at home.
The first concerns checking the channel settings on the router. The expert recommended checking to see if the router could be set to use channels 1, 6 or 11 to reduce issues.
The router might also support a 5GHz, which is faster than the standard 2.4GHz setting.
The expert also reveals that some domestic appliances such as microwaves can, on occasion, slow down internet connections if they use the same frequency as the router.
And if viruses infect your home computer, this can also slow down internet speed. The expert recommended using the latest virus software and updates to ensure viruses do not become an issue.
One expert has recommend keeping the router at least 30 cm from other electrical devices at home.

Another expert provided advice on how to improve internet speeds in a YouTube video.
The expert explains: “How to make the internet ten times faster. Go to network and internet options.
“Select Ethernet and change adaptor options. Go to properties and configure, and then choose speed and duplex.
“Choose the highest duplex value and boom, your internet is way faster.”
