“FireStick NOT resetting,” the disgruntled user wrote.

“Literally keeps coming back to this screen? I have registered it on Amazon and logged into my wifi. Can’t get past that.”

The Redditor posted a short clip of a black screen that said the Fire TV Stick was being configured.

Despite the user clicking through all the steps, they kept returning to square one.

“What is your power source?” asked one Reddit user in the comments.

“Don’t trust the power from the USB. Use the external power supply,” another user suggested.

Amazon Fire TV Sticks don’t have a power source of their own.

They must be plugged into your TV but they don’t necessarily have to be plugged in directly.

Using an external USB power cable can sometimes be a better method for plugging in an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

You can use the HDMI extender that comes as an in-box accessory with your Fire TV Stick purchase.

The 3-inch extender is designed to make it easier for you to plug and unplug the USB-shaped device into the TV.

“Use the HDMI extender cable if it’s difficult to plug the Stick into the TV’s HDMI port,” Amazon advises.

You just need to plug your Fire TV Stick it into the extender first and then attach the extender to the USB port.

This can reportedly help solve some connection issues and even issues with overheating.
