NO hols abroad? No problem. There’s no need to sacrifice family fun just because you can’t go abroad.
According to Google search trends, now is the time to book days out for this summer with demand expected to soar as most of us cancel our holiday plans.
Days out with little ones can mean big prices, but avoid them with these new ways to save . . .
M & YES: Want to visit an historic English Heritage site for half-price? M&S has announced Sparks customers can get 50 per cent off tickets when visiting the likes of Stonehenge. Get your unique code via the Sparks app and use it to get half-price tickets when pre-booking. You will also get ten per cent off at the shop or cafe (when you spend over £5) at the site you’re visiting. See english-heritage.org.uk/sparks.
SUPERMARKET SAVERS: The Lidl Tough Mudder kids’ obstacle course is back. Perfect for children aged 5-12, it’s £10 per ticket but adults get 15 per cent off and it’s half-price for kids when you register and book via the Lidl app. Various locations and time slots at toughmudder.co.uk/lidl-mudder. Also, check your Tesco Clubcard balance and convert to discounts for days out at everywhere from Birdworld to indoor play centres.
TRAINING DAYS: Most rail operators are running a discount or two-for-one offer when using their rail network, as long as you keep the ticket. Get two tickets for the Edinburgh Dungeon for the price of one via Scotrail. Southwestern Railway also has lots of offers, including 2-for-1 tickets for London’s Kew Gardens.
LAST-MINUTE SAVING: Alternative sources, such as hotel booking sites, can bring big savings. I found admission for two to Diggerland for £47.90, whereas prices per person are £28. When booking via Topcashback.co.uk you can get about £2 back on that.
SUN SUPERDAYS: Of course, there’s still time to book two free tickets to Thorpe Park if you collected your Sun Savers codes. Do tag @sunsavers on Instagram if you are taking snaps on a Sun Superday. You might be featured on this page!
