The justice department has indicated it is willing to accept one of Donald Trump’s picks for a so-called special master to review documents seized during the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago last month.

The accommodation on the DoJ’s part could clear the way for the appointment of a neutral arbiter to review the material after both sides initially suggested rival candidates, although it remains to be seen if the judge handling the request, US district judge Aileen Cannon, would approve the Trump team’s selection.
