A DISCOUNT supermarket with more than 300 stores will abruptly close another shop within weeks.
Farmfoods will shut its supermarket in Tranent, East Lothian for good at the end of October.

The discount supermarket will pull the shutters down for the final time on Sunday, October 29.
Locals have shared their sadness after hearing about the closure on social media.
One store regular posted on Facebook and said: “Why shut Farmfoods? The elderly people of Tranent use this daily. Not good for Tranent.”
Another said: “Never mind the old. I use it as I don’t drive so it’s handy for me.”

“Tranent becoming a ghost town now,” said a third shopper.
A spokesperson for the shop told the East Lothian Courier: “I can confirm that our Tranent shop will permanently close on Sunday 29th October.
“I have listed the three closest shops to our former Tranent shop: Musselburgh, Dalkeith and Duddingston Park South, Edinburgh.”
They added they would not “make any further comments regarding our Tranent shop”.

Farmfoods remains a favourite among bargain hunters as it often has cheap offers on popular products like makeup and air fryers.
Sadly, it isn’t the first Farmfoods that’s set for closure this year.
The frozen food specialist pulled down the shutters at its Baillieston branch at the end of February.
Its Cowgate store in Dundee shut in March, with another Glasgow shop closing the month before.
Plus its store in West Bromwich closed in May.
The Farmfoods store in Market Street, Huddersfield closed for the final time earlier this month.
A number of retailers have been struggling as high inflation sees consumers cut back on their leisure spending.
Meanwhile, shoppers are increasingly turning to online retail and away from physical branches.
That, combined with high energy and wages costs, has seen a number of businesses struggle to stay financially sound.
A number of retailers have collapsed into administration this year, including Cath Kidston, Paperchase and M&Co.
