In January, online retailer Boohoo bought the website and brand – but the deal excluded all 118 remaining UK stores and 12,000 Debenhams jobs.

At the time, it was said that Boohoo would take over the website when stores reopened for a final stock clearance.

Debenhams’ stores had to shut alongside all non-essential retail due to lockdown in January, although they could still offer online shopping.

Last week, Boris Johnson then gave the green light for non-essential shops to reopen today.

To continue its stock clearance, Debenhams is reopening its stores in England and Wales with up to 70% off fashion and home.

Shoppers can also get up to 50% off beauty and fragrance items.

Offers may vary from store to store though and are only available as long as stocks last.

You can find your nearest Debenhams store by using the shop locator tool.

The stores will then start to close permanently from May 2, with the stock clearance completed and final stores expected to close by May 15.

While stores remained closed, Debenhams has offered a closing down sale online with up to 80% off in December.

However, this sale has now disappeared from the website as Boohoo takes ownership.

Instead, you’ll largely find Boohoo brands online including Burton, Coast, Dorothy Perkins, Karen Millen, Misspap, Nasty Gal, Oasis and Warehouse.

The website is so far only selling fashion, but it says both beauty and home items are “coming soon”.

In the meantime, there are also still a few deals on Debenhams items.

For example, The Sun found up to 58% off a pair of slippers, which have been reduced from £12 to £7.

Or you can get a cosy robe with a floral print at 54% off – down from £26 to just £129, saving you £14 in the process.

If you’re planning to shop, always make sure you compare prices before you buy as you may be able to find cheaper deals elsewhere.

Ikea has revealed its reopening plans too – including when its restaurants will start serving tasty Swedish meatballs again.

Primark has also said that it will extend opening hours at almost all of its stores when doors open today.

Plus, we explain John Lewis’ opening plans – and shoppers can use the fitting rooms.
