UFL, or Ultimate Football League, is an upcoming free-to-play game that hopes to rival major titles like EA Sports FC.
EA Sports FC, previously known as the FIFA series, has long dominated football games, and is the biggest sports gaming franchise in the world.
However, a number of different studios have tried to rival the FIFA series, the most popular of which is Konami’s free-to-play eFootball.
EFootball has a large fanbase of players, however, it has never been able to rival the numbers of EA FC.
There are a number of games still in development that have hope of taking the football gaming crown.
One of these is UFL, which seems the most promising of all the football titles currently in development.
More in Football Games
Early footage has interested fans, and it has already completed its first major closed test.
UFL has also managed to licence a number of key players for use in the game, including Cristiano Ronaldo who will be the game’s ambassador.
However, a recent statement reveals that not only will Ronaldo be an ambassador for the game, but he will also be a substantial investor.
The world famous footballer has joined a group that is investing a total of $40million (£30million) in the upcoming football game.

In a statement Ronaldo said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of this project as UFL can become the new breed in football gaming.”
Part of the investment also includes Ronaldo being involved in UFL’s development as the game attempts to set a new standard in football games.
UFL aims to separate itself from other games like EA Sports FC by removing any pay-to-win aspects, and focuses purely on skill.
EA Sports FC and its predecessor FIFA have long been criticised for Ultimate Team packs, which are similar to loot boxes.
Players spend a lot of money on the game in order to open packs, the contents of which are random, in hopes of gaining better players.
