The couple who masterminded the property set about building the stunning four-bedroom home which is situated in Delamere, Cheshire.

Sue Robinson, 51, began constructing the house with her partner in 2019, aiming for an energy-efficient home and for it to be built in as little time as possible.

The secret behind the quick turnaround was due to the couple opting for a timber-frame building.

The plans were sent off to a factory where the whole building was designed and built offsite.

Within four days the couple had a water-tight roof fitted.

The rest of the construction, which took place in 2019 and included electrical installation, installing the heating systems, laying floors, building stairs, fitting bathroom furniture and tiling, was finished in under six weeks.

That also included all the painting and decorating of the house too. According to Sue, the hardest part was choosing the room layout.

She said: “The layout could be whatever we wanted it to be – so the freedom of choice was a little overwhelming at first.

“But then we got into the flow of what we wanted and agreed on what the layout should be.

“We loved the project of creating our own home tailored to our specific needs – it reflects who we are.”

Sue, who had previously lived overseas said: “It was really important to achieve indoor-outdoor living and have a covered area outside.

“I love to cook but don’t like to feel as if I’m closed away, so having an open plan space was important.

“Our focus was to have eating and entertaining areas both inside and outside.

“We also managed to create flexibility in the home by using one room as an office and a gym – which was particularly great when we were in lockdown.”

The house is equipped with a large sleek kitchen, dinning and living room space, with windows stretched along the wall.

Outside the stunning property, in the heart of Delamere Forest, is a modern building bordered by trees and features a covered deck space with an outdoor sofa.

The property can be found for sale on purple bricks as the couple now have plans to move abroad.

“This property is so special with so many unique features,” said Leah Connor, Purplebricks local property expert.

“If you love walking and being in a rural setting then the location is perfect.

“You are also within a 15-minute drive of the Roman town of Chester which offers fantastic shopping facilities and global eateries.”
