THIRSTY Brits can get a coffee on the house from Costa Coffee as part of the chain’s buy one get one free offer this week.

Costa Express machines are self-service touch screen machines typically found on petrol forecourts, convenience stores and leisure centres – so the deal isn’t available if you buy your coffee in store or via a drive-thru.

You’ll then get £3 free to spend on your next purchase at the coffee chain.

The £3 covers most prices on Costa’s menu – so you’d essentially be getting your next order for free.

But you can only spend the points between Tuesday and Thursday this week – so make sure you act quick.

You can spend your £3 on anything, not just coffee – we’ve rounded up what is £3 or under on Costa Coffee’s menu below.

To get the deal, you need to have the Costa Coffee app, which is free to download from Google Play or the App Store.

You’ll have to include some personal details to sign up though, including your name and email address.

When you’re paying for your drink at a Costa Express machine, make sure to scan your app to receive your points.

The next time you go to your nearest Costa Coffee store or drive-thru, you’ll be able to spend your points.

The deal isn’t available if you get your order delivered, use the store’s click and collect service, or use the order at table service.

To find out where your nearest Costa Express machine is, use the chain’s store locator tool on its website.

Enter your postcode and press enter – then you’ll be taken to a page which lists where all of Costa Coffee’s locations are.

On the left-hand side of your screen, clock on the “filters” tab and select “Express” to see where just your nearest Costa Express machine is.

However, Costa Coffee isn’t the only chain offering a hot drink for free.

If you’re an O2 customer, you can get a free hot drink from Caffè Nero on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

You can pick up an Iced Latte, Iced Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, Americano, Espresso, Flat White, Cortado, Mocha, Hot Chocolate or Tea under the deal.

McDonald’s is also flogging free coffees or hot drinks – but you’ll have to be a new app user to get one.

To get the deal, you need to download the McDonald’s app onto your phone.

Head to the deals section of your app, where the offer should be after you’ve created a new account.
