COSTA Coffee is giving out FREE drinks today – all so customers can cool off with a frozen fix as the heatwave rages on.

The high street drinks chain is on hand to help shoppers sweltering in the 34C heat with FREE “over-ice” delights.

There’s nothing better than a refreshing iced latte on a hot day – and Costa customers can get one for FREECredit: Costa Coffee

The café giant is not all hot coffee and teas after all.

Costa offers up everything from iced lattes, iced mochas and iced flat whites on its menu – perfect for battling the soaring temperatures.

And each of those options are up for grabs completely free of charge from toady – but there’s a catch.

You’ll have needed to head down to the store yesterday to line yourself up for the freebie.

That’s because you’ll have needed to make a purchase ahead of the weekend to claim.

If you’re a Costa Club member then you’ve got to scan the Costa Club mobile app when buying a drink in participating stores, via Click & Collect or when using a self-serve Costa Express machine to be eligible.

You should have done that when making your purchase yesterday, and you’ll get a voucher (on your app) entitling you to a free over-ice drink.

The good news is that voucher is valid all the way until June 23.

That gives you until Thursday to claim, so you don’t have to race to snap up the freebie straight away.

If you’re not already a part of the exclusive coffee club though, it’s free to join.

But you have to be quick, as you’ve only got until end of play today to get your qualifying order in, to claim the freebie.

You can buy any drink from Costa’s menu to cash-in.

Then once you’re armed with your voucher, from tomorrow, you can redeem any iced coffee, iced tea, fruit cooler or iced lemonade.

They can cost anywhere up to £3.65, so for a limited time you’ll be able to make a big saving on the refreshment of your choice.

Sadly for anyone after more of a sugary fix, frappes and velvet iced lattes aren’t included in the deal.

And any extra syrups, coffee shots, toppings or coffee and milk alternatives that don’t come as standard with your choice of drink will be charged for on top.

You’ll have to keep in mind that stock will be subject to availability when it comes time to collect your reward, but you’ll only get the one chance to claim – so choose your free drink wisely.

Anything lumbered with a few cubes of ice will be welcomed in the roasting temperatures cooking the country this weekend though.

Rebecca Brock, commercial and customer director at Costa Coffee said: “We couldn’t have timed our free over ice drinks offer better, with a mini heatwave visiting the UK over the next few days.

“Whether your go-to summer drink is a classic Iced Latte, a refreshing Iced Tea or maybe something a little fruiter from our range of Fruit coolers, why not enjoy a free drink on us to help cool you down.”

The generous gesture could turn the heads of caffeine lovers who were left steaming at Costa Coffee for putting up its drinks prices for the second time earlier this month.

It had already sneakily pushed up prices by 6% at the beginning of the year.
