SAMSUNG users have been feeling frustrated as of late with a new AI tool.
Samsung’s latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S24, has come under fire for its “Chat Assist” feature.
The tool is designed to help users write more effective text messages using AI.
Samsung marketed Chat Assist as a tool that could adapt users’ hastily typed messages to make them suitable.
It can check your spelling and grammar and also translate texts into another language.
Users, however, report that the AI sometimes can’t check their text because it might contain “inappropriate content.”
One user on Reddit explained further: “It comes up constantly for the dumbest reasons that you could imagine.
“I was trying to talk to my daughter’s doctor about her being sick and poop/diarrhea and it was inappropriate.
“I tried to use it when talking to my wife about her sociology paper and it didn’t work because apparently you are not allowed to discuss racial bias.
“Even this post right now is too inappropriate to use AI Text!!”

The user added that Samsung overhyped the Galaxy S24 phone and advised prospective buyers against getting it.
Since going live, the Reddit thread has been upticked dozens of times and received more than 100 replies.
“I noticed this as well, even the most slightly inappropriate conversation topic will not let you use the AI,” one user remarked.
“The censorship kinda makes the AI useless,” they added.
“I agree that not being able to summarize due to “inappropriate” content is nonsensical,” another person commented.
“You are just summarizing text, not necessarily posting it publicly or anything. Why should a summarized option care about that?” they added.
A third Reddit user noted that Android’s Gboard is “miles ahead at swipe text.”
“And it has an actual number pad option. I’m trying to use a Samsung keyboard rn it sucks,” they remarked.
Despite these negative reviews, many believe Chat Assist has the potential to be useful with further development.
