One user wrote: “Clinton cards are selling Xmas cards today as a special xmas has come early sale.”

“Did I actually just see clintons advertising xmas cards in their window,” another said.

Clintons told the Sun that the cards are leftover from the 2020 range so there’s only a limited amount available.

The cards are being sold in the majority of stores across the country for as long as stock lasts.

Customers can get individual cards for just 99p or can pay £1.98 for three cards with a three for two deal – working out to 66p a card.

These 2020 Christmas cards were £4 or over at the original retail price, so you can save at least £3.34 per card if you get the three for two deal.

It comes as part of a massive “Christmas come early” sale that has seen the brand slash prices on cards, wrapping and gifts by up to 50%.

Savvy shoppers can starting saving on Christms cards, wrapping, decorations and gifts, including on candles and toys, if they start their Christmas shop at Clintons now.

Those who buy Christmas cards at now will also be able to benefit from receiving 20% off Clintons’ new festive range when it arrives on shelves in October.

To redeem the discount in autumn, customers need to save their receipt from this sale, which will say “October Bounceback” on it.

They should then present it at the till when they shop the new range in October.

You can shop the Christmas sale onilne with delivery fees of £2.99 if you spend below £10 and £1.99 if you spend between £10-£20.

Delivery for orders that are £20 and above is free.

Otherwise, you can find your nearest Clintons branch using its free online store locator tool.

A spokesperson from Clintons said: “We’ve had unprecedented requests for Christmas cards already in 2021.

“We wanted to ensure we responded to the increased demand after our stores were closed for the majority of 2020, and provide customers the opportunity to buy their Christmas cards early, as well as at great value.”

They added: “We’ve seen extraordinary engagement with customers in store this week with people getting ahead for Christmas 2021.”
