Aldi has finally put confused customers out of their misery and confirmed there will be no wine advent calendar this year.

Some shoppers were thinking they had missed the boat, while others were wondering if it had not yet been released.

Aldi wine lovers took to social media to ask the discount retailer “what is happening?” regarding the popular advent calendar.

One person wrote on Twitter: “What has happened to your wine advent calendar? I can’t find any?”

Another said: “Are you going to be doing your fabulous wine advent calendar again this year?”

While a third said: “Are there no plans for your wine advent calendar this year? I am distraught.”

Aldi responded to customers saying: “We don’t currently have any plans for a wine advent calendar this year.

“Sorry for any inconvenience.”

This led to one devastated shopper saying “Aldi has officially ruined Christmas.”

He added: “There was nothing that brought me more joy than knowing I had a surprise glass of wine every day in December.”

However, it is not all bad news for Aldi fans who want a boozy build-up to Christmas.

The discounter has launched its first-ever Ballycastle cream liqueur Advent calendar.

The calendar is priced at £11.99 and contains 21 Ballycastle cream-flavoured chocolates and three mini country cream bottles (5cl).

Flavours included in the calendar are white chocolate, chocolate, caramel and hazelnut and classic country cream.

Meanwhile, shoppers have been rushing to Alidi to buy a “delicious” Christmas essential that costs just 9p.

Pet owners have also been grabbing a bargain from the retailer that will keep your dog snuggly warm for just £3.99.

We also tested Christmas fruit cakes from various supermarkets and two winners beat Aldi when it came to taste.

Also, if you are already shopping for Christmas dinner essentials, there is a little-known shop where you can feed a family of four for just £15.
