Wang Yam sent UK committee knowledge of intentions of telecommunications company

A Chinese informant for MI6, now serving a life sentence for murder in a British jail, has given information about the telecommunications company Huawei to the parliamentary intelligence and security committee, the Guardian has learned.

He has been thanked by the chair of the committee, the senior Conservative backbencher Dr Julian Lewis, and told that he has raised “several important areas of concern” and that the committee’s findings may be “of interest” to him.
