We can reveal where the cheapest place to buy Quality Street is

Most supermarkets are selling off Christmas stock such as cheese, Stollen, Christmas cake and chocolate at extremely low prices.

Some bargain hunters are managing to pick up their favourite food items for just pennies in some stores.

In the week leading up to Christmas, many retailers were battling it out in a bid to be the cheapest on tubs of Christmas chocs.

The cheapest price we could find on Quality Street at the time was from Iceland and The Food Warehouse via Just Eat.

The retailer had a 600g tub of the chocs for just £3.62 reduced from the usual price of £7.25.

Now retailers are at it again and the race is on to be the cheapest in the post-Christmas sales.

Here we can reveal where you can get the cheapest deal on tubs of your favourite festive chocolate.

Quality Street

The front runner at the moment when it comes to Quality Street is Asda which has reduced its tubs down to just £2.25.

We did our comparisons online and surprisingly (or perhaps not) a lot of the supermarkets did not have any stock showing.

Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Lidl were not showing any online and although Tesco had the product listed it was not in stock online.

However, shoppers did spot some on offer in the Tesco Hayes store for £2.50 a tub.

The next cheapest was Aldi pricing its tubs at £2.99, closely followed by Ocado.

The online supermarket has reduced its tubs of 600g Quality Street from £6 down to £3.

Cadbury Roses

Tubs of Roses must have been popular over Christmas as we could not find any in stock online.

This does not mean that the chocolates are not available in store and stock levels do change all the time so it is worth keeping an eye out.

We did see that Morrisons has reduced the 300g pouches of Roses chocolates from £3.50 to £2.50.

Cadbury Heroes

We could not find tubs of Cadbury Heroes online with any of the supermarkets we checked.

Morrisons did have the same deal on the 300g pouches so they were reduced to £2.50.

Just to make sure we had not missed anything we checked on Trolley.co.uk which is an online price comparison site.

Nothing came up on there either, but as previously stated this does not mean that the chocs are not available in store.

It is good to do your own price comparisons, especially this time of year as prices and stock levels can change daily during sale times.

Celebrations

When it comes to Celebrations, Asda comes out as the cheapest at the moment at 2.25 for a tub.

Next is online retailer Ocado which has a 600g tub priced at £2.75.

Morrisons comes in as the third cheapest at £5 followed by Sainsbury’s at £5.50.

Remember when you are buying things to eat in the sale, to check the best before dates, especially if you are stocking up.

Also, remember you are only saving money in the sales if it is something you were planning on buying anyway.

If you are just buying because something is on offer you are not necessarily saving money.

Meanwhile, Asda has been slashing its prices on other festive favourites to keep sweet-toothed shoppers happy.

Also, if you have given up the booze for January we tasted some non-alcoholic alternatives.
