JANUARY sales are on the way, which means you might be getting ready to hunt for great deals.
And one of the nation’s favourite bargain appliances right now is the air fryer – the cheap and quick way to cook your dinners.
Lots of supermarkets and retailers have taken to selling cheap air fryers for excited shoppers.
But it’s always important to remember that the price to buy an air fryer depends on where you go and which model you buy.
You can use lots of comparison tools like the Latest Deals app or Google Shopping to compare prices so you’re not missing out on a cheaper deal.
You should also factor in how much it’s going to cost to run once you’ve found a home for it on the kitchen counter.
Right now, if you used a 900-watt air fryer for 20 minutes, it would cost about 10p per meal.
But this could change if your bills hike up on January 1.
It also depends on who your supplier is, how much energy you normally use and which model you have.
To compare prices in our roundup, we’ve picked out the the 3.8L Ninja Air Fryer as a basis which will set you back £129.99 if you buy it from its website.

The majority of the below fryers are of similar size to get the most accurate comparisons. We have included the price of an alternative Ninja version for the larger ones.
Here’s what we’ve found.
Argos
Argos has a few air fryers reduced at the moment which might take your fancy.
To start with, there’s the Tower T17067 4L Digital Air Fryer which will only set you back £60 – originally £78.
It’s 1,400 watts, can cook up to four servings at once and reaches a maximum temperature of 200 degrees.
Do remember to factor in delivery costs if you’re ordering home though.
Argos charges at least £3.95 for delivery, depending on the item.
Alternatively, you could go in search of your nearest branch – they’re normally stationed inside Sainsbury’s, but you can use the store locator on the Argos website.
We do recommend calling up first though to check they have it in stock.
There’s also the Instant 3.8L Air Fryer which costs £60.
This one also serves three to four people, but reaches 205 degrees. It’s also powered by 1,600 watts
Currys
We found the TEFAL Easy Fry Compact EY101827 Air Fryer from Currys for just £59.99 – down from £89.99.
It holds 0.6kg, reaches 1,300 watts and serves two people.
There’s also an inbuilt timer you can use so you don’t need to keep track and it has a non-stick basket.
The good news is there’s free standard delivery, unless you want it within four hours.
In that case, you’d need to pay an extra tenner.
To get it tomorrow, it’s an added £5.
Or you can head to your local store, but make sure they’ve got it on shelves first.
Dunelm
There’s a £65 digital air fryer from Dunelm that’s on sale on the website right now.
It’s a 6L fryer with eight possible settings – and a whopping £165 cheaper than the similar Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer.
It features one frying basket with 360° circular hot wind to ensure a light and efficient cooking process.
But the website doesn’t note which temperature it reaches, so you might need to call up and ask the store before buying.
You can also order with free delivery.
Asda
The Tower Vortx 4L Manual Air Fryer is on sale at Asda for £45.
It uses 1,400 watts and serves around two to four people, but it’ll set you back £2.95 to have it delivered.
The website doesn’t specify the exact heating settings on this fryer, so you might want to call up and ask.
But you can remove the basket to clean for an easy process.
There are some glowing reviews of the product too, with one fan writing on the website: “Fabulous product, my first air fryer – it’s cut my cooking time and hopefully the electric bill too – it’s big enough for two portions.”
And another praised: “Ohhh it’s brilliant very good investment can highly recommend . Still early days but so far I’m impressed.”
Amazon
We found a 3.5L COSORI Air Fryer Oven on Amazon for £89.99, complete with a touchscreen and 100-recipe cookbook.
It uses 1,500 watts, has 13 cooking settings and 11 preheat options, and reaches up to 205 degrees.
There’s even a function where it will switch off after 30 minutes if it hasn’t been used, saving you power.
Delivery charges may vary depending on where you live, so make sure you have a look at that before you click ‘buy’.
Lidl
We also spotted a the Salter 7.8L Dual Air Fryer for just £99.99 from Lidl.
That’s almost £100 cheaper than the Ninja alternative.
The Salter 7.8L Dual Air Fryer comes with two baskets, so you can cook two different things at once.
It comes equipped with a digital display and six different cooking programs.
The air fryer uses 2,400 watts and can cooks at 60°-240°.
But there’s a catch, the appliance is only available in store and is likely to sell fast.
You’ll need to head to your nearest Lidl if you want to bag yourself the deal – the supermarket doesn’t offer online delivery.
To find your nearest branch, you’ll need to visit the website.
As always before you commit to a purchase, you should shop around to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
