FANS of Cadbury’s Christmas Roses tins are up in arms after discovering a huge issue with them, forcing the chocolate maker to apologise.

The Roses tins are hugely popular over the Christmas period, offering fans a selection of Cadbury’s favourites in bite-sized chunks to savour with friends and family.

Sweet-toothed fans haven’t been impressed lately though with their favourite, the tangy orange crème, apparently missing from the tubs they opened.

One person wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Imagine my sadness to open these last night and have no #tangyorangecreme and only 7 #strawberrycreme. Well gutted. Come on @CadburyUK pull your act together.”

The post prompted Cadbury’s to apologise, who replied: “Sorry about that! The tins are filled at random, so we have no control over the contents of individual tins.”

The poster though didn’t quite fully accept that explanation and added: “Filled at random ok I understand but the tub in question was bought with 6 others at the same time and 4 in total were passed out to family members and all 4 had no orange creme so u can’t put that down to random filling surely.”

That thread then led another user to write: “I didn’t get any Orange cremes either in my box think they need to up their quality control. I know it’s random but to not have any is shocking.”

That sentiment was echoed by another user of the social media site, writing in a separate post: “Where are the tangy orange chocolates?? They’re my fave.”

That got the same apology from Cadbury’s.

Likewise, they also weren’t satisfied with that response, saying: “That’s a shame as never happened before. Will go with @QualityStreetUK and hope for a more even distribution with them.”

Named after chocolatier Dorothy Cadbury’s favourite flower, Roses, have become a Christmas chocolate staple.

The tubs even include miniature chunks of Cadbury’s signature Dairy Milk chocolate.

Most major retailers stock 600g and 900g tubs as well as 357g cartons and 290g pouches.

Shoppers can expect to enjoy over 60 chocolates in the 600g tubs and 90 in the 900g tubs.

But prices vary across retailers, and Cadbury Roses can be found for as little as £2.99 and as much as £11.89 depending on where you shop.

Prices may vary day to day as well depending on what deals are on, so make sure you check and look at delivery costs too if you’re ordering online.

There’s a handy comparison site – Trolley.co.uk – which compares the prices of 130,000 products across 14 major supermarkets.

The Latest Deals app also lets you search items and lets you compare prices at several supermarkets to see where it’s cheaper.
