The FTSE 100 fell over 3 per cent this afternoon, with shares in banking giants including HSBC and Lloyds lower. 

Credit Suisse shares have sunk a hefty 27 per cent.    

Jeremy Hunt is delivering the Spring Budget promised to be a ‘budget for growth’, with the Chancellor focused on getting more Britons back to work after a sharp jump in economic inactivity over the last three years.

The Office for Budget Responsibility will also publish its forecasts for the UK economy, which will give the Chancellor an indicator of the Treasury’s capacity to help drive growth.
