The FTSE 100 index closed up 0.3 per cent or 20.80 points to 7,005.39 this afternoon, while the FTSE 250 index finished up 0.1 per cent or 16.86 points to 17,320.97. The Bank of England staged a gilt market intervention earlier today. Among the firms reporting today are Boohoo, Burberry, Aston Martin Lagonda and Jaguar Land Rover.
