A BRIT’s favourite bakery chain is set to close down its town centre store – but hope is not lost for hungry shoppers.
The high street bakery chain plans to close one of its three stores in Cwmbran town centre in Wales.

Welsh shoppers walking by their regular Greggs bakery in their town centre will now have to buy their sausage rolls elsewhere.
Greggs announced it will close the store which was part of the three bakeries in the area.
The store on The Parade used to employ more than 16 staff full-time – but it has now closed its doors forever.
But all hope is not lost for pasty fans.

Torfaen County Borough Council has given planning permission to Greggs to move to a larger unit – formerly used as a drapers.
The former Shaws closed after the company went into liquidation in December 2022.
It operated 28 stores across Wales and England.

Greggs has been now given the green light to change the use of the former drapers to sell food for consumption on or off the establishment.
In the application, the company said it will create a new store with space for 20 customers to sit inside and eight to sit outside.
The council has allowed Greggs to open Monday to Saturday from 6am to 9pm, and from 6am to 6pm on Sunday.
It comes as Bungling Greggs bosses made humiliating mistake as they mistake Yorkshire for London.

Meanwhile, another high street bakery chain has crashed into administration and closed all but one of its stores.
Le Pain Quotidien has shut nine of its ten bakeries leaving 250 out of a job, in another blow to the hospitality sector.
Elsewhere, a treasured bakery is closing after more than 90 years and fans have said they’ll miss the “best biscuits ever”.
