Only 3% of UK workers are happy to be in the office five days a week

Only 3 per cent of UK workers are happy to be in the office five days a week and over half would take a pay cut to be able to work more from home, a recruiter has warned.

Data from recruitment firm Morgan McKinley has found 93 per cent expressed a strong preference for continuing in a hybrid or remote work model.

The survey of 3,400 workers revealed that one to two days in the office is the favoured weekly working pattern for 52 per cent of professionals, with a further 22 per cent selecting three to four days.

Only 3 per cent are happy to be in the office for five working days. And as many as 51 per cent of workers said they would even forego pay raises for more flexibility.

David Leithead of Morgan McKinley said: ‘Four years after the pandemic, the global workforce is still grappling with the ongoing debate surrounding hybrid work models.’
