The battery maker recently received £100million of Government funding and £1.7billion from finance giant Abrdn and warehouse group Tritax to develop its plant in Northumberland.
Britishvolt estimates the factory will create 3,000 jobs and at peak will produce enough cells to make 300,000 batteries a year.
The talks emerged as Aston’s executive chairman Lawrence Stroll unveiled the company’s new AMR22 Formula One racing car.
Stroll claims the company has seen a surge in sales since he announced he would revive Aston’s F1 work.
But he also admitted Aston had ‘overestimated’ the number of £2.5million Valkyrie hypercars it could build.
