Punters are downing twice as much as before the pandemic.

And rationing has been introduced as landlords risk running out.

Heineken limited each pub to only 264 pints per week of lagers Amstel and Birra Moretti.

And 630 million more pints are being brewed in the UK by Budweiser.

Both suppliers said their breweries were operating “around the clock”.

Pubs report selling twice as much beer as usual despite only having outdoor areas open.

Today a £2billion “Stupor Saturday” will see a bars-and-shops dash to start the long weekend — the biggest since last summer.

About 1.5 million drinkers and ten million shoppers were expected to hit boozers and high streets.
