Up until now, you’ve probably found it easy to make an excuse for missing a group call.
But WhatsApp‘s latest development could make your next reason to avoid a voice call somewhat tricky.
The Meta-owned platform is currently working on a schedule calls feature.
It’s perfect for anyone who likes to stay organised with their time.
Members of the call are sent a reminder alert 15 minutes before the call is due to start.
So there’s way of pretending you “forgot”.
Of course, nothing is compelling you to join the call but it may make it harder to wiggle out of.
Leaked screenshots obtained by WABetaInfo suggest the option appears when you tap the call button.

But it won’t be on most people’s apps just yet.
WhatsApp is still testing the new tool with its early beta testers.

To get an early taste of WhatsApp’s new features you’ll have to be part of the beta programme.
Membership varies depending on whether you’re using an iPhone or Android device.
The iPhone scheme comes via TestFlight and tends to be full.
