DIY store B&Q is open this August Bank Holiday weekend.

This means that those of you who have been putting off home projects can get to work over the long weekend.

However, the hours are different depending on where you are in the country.

When is B&Q open over the early May bank holiday?

B&Q is usually open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and that doesn’t look to change over the bank holiday.

Opening hours vary between stores though, so it’s best to check with the locator tool from B&Q so you know when your closest store is open over the bank holiday.

On Sundays the store is typically open between 10am and 4pm and these times are unaffected by the bank holiday.

Is B&Q doing delivery over the Bank Holiday?

Home delivery is operating as normal over the holiday, but high demand means your order might take a bit longer than usual.

Standard delivery costs £5, but it’s free for orders over £50.

B&Q can usually deliver on a typical Sunday so this won’t change for the weekend.

But times for delivery services can range from 3 days to 5 weeks so it’s unlikely you’ll get your order in time for the bank holiday anyway.

For orders that are larger than parcel, the store offer a named day delivery service but the cost might go up to £10 depending on just how big all your new DIY gear is.

Click and collect is free at the store though, so if you are ready to pick up your items next day then you can do so at your local store.
