Boots is bringing back Price Advantage permanently – but you’ll need an Advantage card

What is Boots Price Advantage?

Price Advantage is an extra discount on select items only for Boots Advantage card members.

For example, Aveeno shampoo will set you back £4.50 if you have an Advantage card – or £8.99 if you don’t.

The scheme was trialled last summer with 50% off select items for Advantage card holders.

After a break, it’s now back permanently.

You can see which products are discounted for loyalty scheme members by the pink sticker.

According to Boots, Price Advantage will apply to 150 items each month, allowing loyalty scheme members to get pounds off the regular price.

The deals are the same in all Boots stores and online, while stocks last.

Other products discounted this month include L’Oreal’s anti-wrinkle serum, which costs Advantage members £16.60 – and the rest of us £24.99.

How can I claim Price Advantage deals?

Simply show your Boots Advantage card at the till or log in to your Advantage account online to access Price Advantage offers.

Just like Tesco Clubcard customers get Clubcard Prices on select items, only Advantage card holders can access Price Advantage offers.

It’s not a huge hurdle, as an Advantage cards is free and straightforward enough to sign up for.

That can be done online and in-store – or via the app.

Advantage members earn 4 rewards points for every £1 they spend in-store and online.

And you’ll get an extra 200 points just for downloading the Boots app.

Plus, over-60s and parents get double points toward certain purchases.

Points can then be saved up and used in-store and online.

They’re worth about 1p each, so Boots Advantage members get a discount of around 4% if they use their loyalty card wisely.

Advantage card members also get a 10% student discount.

Which other shops have similar schemes?

Tesco’s Clubcard Prices are the best known, but numerous high street shops offer similar loyalty benefits.

The Morrisons More card gives members personalised vouchers each month depending on their usual buys.

Meanwhile Iceland’s prepaid debit card gives shoppers £1 back for every £20 they spend in-store.

Keep track of the best and worst supermarket loyalty schemes here.

Still, few big name shops have special discounts just for loyalty card members, so Boots Price Advantage is definitely worth a look.

What else should I keep in mind?

To be a smart shopper you should always compare prices.

Boots’ offer is not a price guarantee – meaning some products might be cheaper at other stores.

The lower the price, the bigger your saving.

And remember, if you didn’t plan to buy it, it’s probably not a saving.

A Boots spokesperson said: “All Boots Advantage Card holders will be given access to the Price Advantage programme meaning they’ll be able to get their hands on even bigger savings by being members of the loyalty scheme.”

The company also teased hundreds of new half-price deals and more £2 essentials.

These are the high street loyalty schemes to look out for in 2022, including Tesco’s Clubcard and Superdrug’s Health and Beautycard.

Plus, save hundreds each year with these essential budgeting apps.
