Christmas Day and Boxing Day are on Monday, December 25 and Tuesday, December 26 respectively.

New Year’s Day falls on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Boots has more than 2,000 stores across the country and opening times can vary across the UK.

Will Boots be open over Christmas and New Year?

Boots opening hours vary from store to store, so it’s worth checking ahead to see if your local branch will be open.

But all Boots stores will be closed on Christmas Day.

Most of its site will be open on New Year’s Day, but it’s always best to check with your local store first.

Usually, Boots stores are open from as early as 7am and some close as late as 10pm, with many staying open past 6pm.

But the festive period means some stores are opening later than usual and shutting earlier.

You can check yours by using the chain’s locator tool on its website.

Simply type in your postcode and it will tell you the specific opening times for nearby branches.

If your closest Boots pharmacy is located within a larger shopping centre, it’s advisable to check the opening times of the precinct as well as this will dictate when shops have to shut.

Are other shops open over Christmas and New Year?

Opening hours for other retailers can vary from store to store, so you should always check ahead.

Most have their own store locators that show you your nearest branch and its opening hours.

Aldi said its stores in across the UK will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

However, it’s important to note that the usual hours of 8am-10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday’s will vary from store to store and regions.
