SHOPPERS are rushing to B&M for a bargain household essential that has been slashed from £40 to just £1.

The Colorado silver curtains have been reduced from £39.99 to £1, while the Oakland grey curtains have been reduced from £49.99 to £1.

Thermal curtains and curtain linings are a great investment as they can stop heat from escaping through draughty windows.

One savvy woman told us by swapping the curtains in her house she’s cut her energy bill by £150

There are also heavier curtains which help to heat your rooms for longer especially when placed near a radiator.

One happy shopper shared the bargains in the B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More Facebook group online.

They said: “B&M Peterborough next to Smyths, new door curtains, absolute bargain.”

The post has racked up dozens of impressions and fellow group members agreed the shopper has found some great bargains.

One user said: “Ooh I need new door curtains.”

Another said: “My local one also got that haul.”

“Nice,” someone said.

You’ll have to head in-store if you want to get these deals as the new price labels make it clear the curtains have been reduced to clear.

The Colorado Silver curtains are still listed as £29.99 online while the Oakland grey curtains are £19.99.

It’s not likely you’ll find prices in other stores for as low as the one in B&M.

Dunelm has low-cost options from £12, and in Argos some curtains go for the same price.

Remember stock will be limited from store to store and some might not have it for the same reduced price.

It’s always worth shopping around when looking to buy a product as you might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.

Tips to stay warm this winter

There are other affordable ways you can stay warm this winter.

Hot water bottles are still a great investment, they are always great for a cost-free way of keeping warm.

If you’ve got a few pennies to spare consider buying an electric blanket.

They are another great way to keep warm and most cost around 2p an hour to run.

Don’t forget about preventative measures, draught-proof your home and seal your windows to stop cold air from coming in.

Prices for draught excludes start from a fiver in most stores but a thick blanket rolled up next to a draughty door will work just as well.

Loft insulation is also very important as it can stop heat escaping, therefore slashing your heating bill.

You can buy insulation from all local builder merchants or retailers such as B&Q and Wickes.

In other news, Dunelm shoppers vow they will “never need a hot water bottle again” as “great value” winter gadget is slashed in sale.

Matalan shoppers rush to buy cheap winter essential that “stays hot for hours” – & you can avoid putting the heating on.
