Last month, B&M said it would be taking on three former Wilko sites in Stourbridge, Washington and Porthmadog, Wales.

Wilko went into administration in August 2023 and many possible buyers expressed interest in taking over.

But there was no one to buy the whole company.

Four-hundred shops were forced to close by October – after B&M agreed to buy up to 51 locations in a £13million deal.

Wilko’s last remaining sites closed for good on October 8 last year.

Bargain hunters were last week thrilled to find the prices of some staple items at B&M had been slashed.

One shopper proudly showed off his reduced find – which allowed him to save a whopping £95.

Dominic Hallsworth was left stunned when browsing the aisles of his local B&M and discovered a five-tier rolling shoe rack for just £1.

Originally priced at £20, he couldn’t believe his luck.

Another shopper claimed she found her “bargain of the year” at her local B&M – huge boxes of washing powder.

B&M fan Emma Stephenson managed to get her hands on six large boxes of XXL mega value pack Easy Inspirations laundry powder.

The 6.5kg tubs were originally priced at £9.49 each, but Emma nabbed them for just £1 each – yes, you heard that correctly.

Emma’s haul cost her just £6, so she saved £8.49 on each box.

In total, she saved a staggering £50.94.
