B&M has announced it will close more of its sites across Britain in the coming weeks.

The discount retailer is set to close two of its sites for good on Sunday.

The affected sites are B&M’s Kilmarnock store in Queens Drive Retail Park in Scotland and B&M on Boucher Road, Belfast.

However, shoppers should not worry too much as the majority of its closures are a result of relocating to larger stores.

Those in Scotland will already find their new store completed after it opened in Glencairn Retail Park last month with a wide range of new products for customers to enjoy.

People in Belfast will not have to wait long either, as their ‘bigger and better’ brand new store site will be opening on Friday March 24, according to The Mirror.

B&M will close MORE sites across Britain in coming weeks… so will your store be affected?

The full list of closures includes:

Maesglas Retail Park, Newport – closed

Castlegate Shopping Centre, Stockton – closed

Boucher Road, Belfast – March 26

Queens Drive Retail Park, Kilmarnock – March 26

Bristol, Broadwalk Shopping Centre – March 29

Bristol shoppers will also see their B&M store at the Broadwalk Shopping Centre close at the end of this month as it shuts for good on March 29.

This is due to the shopping centre where it resides being demolished.

The current 1970s shopping mall structure is set to be taken down and replaced with around 800 flats based in several tower blocks, a cinema, small supermarket, a restaurant, a library and dentist surgery.

Despite the closures, there is good news for customers with B&M announcing a number of openings over the next few months, as well as a few which opened last year.

After a few opened last year as well, the number of B&M stores across the UK now stands at more than 700.

Of those due to close, this is reportedly due to external factors such as logistics and relocation instead of the ‘diminishing high street’.

Scunthorpe’s old Debenhams store in North Lincolnshire Shopping Park will soon be taken over by B&M.

Meanwhile, a brand new store and garden centre is set to open in Barnsley, south Yorkshire, this Saturday, March 4.
