iPhone and iPad technology includes Siri, the voice command system that can register when you speak without you needing to go into the phone.
While this may be a useful feature, it also means the device is always running software that can pick up on the sound of your words.
It does this by using something called active listening, which can be turned off in settings.
This feature eats up battery life – and if you rarely use Siri, it might just be draining valuable charge for no good reason.
To deactivate active listening go into settings and click on Siri & Search.
At the top of the following menu, iPhone and iPad users will see an option which reads Listen for “Hey Siri”.
Simply swipe across to disable this, and you could instead activate Press Side Button for Siri.
Although the feature may not drain your battery as much as screen brightness or mobile data usage – it will still help preserve it.
