EASTER eggs have been spotted at a bargain store for half price – and they’re cheaper than Tesco.

Tesco’s Easter eggs are cheaper than other supermarkets, but now the grocery giant has a rival.

You can get Easter eggs for as little as £2.99 from Home Bargains

Home Bargains has slashed the price of its Easter eggs by half.

In a post to its Facebook page, the discount shop wrote: “Just in Cadbury eggs at cracking prices.

“Available in store now, whilst stocks last.”

Prices start from as little as £2.99 for an extra large 212.5g Cadburys egg – which cost £5 each from Tesco.

Here’s a few examples of Cadburys extra large eggs:

  • Cadbury Dairy Milk Creme Egg Easter Egg
  • Cadbury Dairy Milk Wispa Easter Egg

Keep in mind the range will vary depending on which store you go to.

Just search using the store locator on its website if you’re unsure where your nearest one is.

Shoppers have been ecstatic about the deals, with one writing: “these are good buys xx”

And another tagged their friend, putting: “This was why I said we need to go here for the eggs.”

We listed Tesco as the cheapest supermarket selling Easter eggs this week, with prices starting from £1 for Clubcard users.

But this is for small eggs – we haven’t found anything as cheap as £2.99 for extra large versions.

There are also giant 410g eggs on offer for just £4.99 each – Tesco charges £10 in comparison.

This includes the Cadbury Dairy Milk Orange Giant Buttons Easter Egg, but do have a look around at what else there is at your local branch.

You won’t find the Home Bargains deals online, so be quick to visit in store.

It’s an idea to call up first to see how many they have left in stock – you don’t want to go there just to end up disappointed.

The Sun has asked Home Bargains if the deal is offered in all stores and we’ll update this when we know more.

Elsewhere, LidlSainsbury’s and Aldi all sell small Easter eggs for £1.25.

We’ve spotted the odd medium-sized egg for £1.25 at Aldi, but these may be Specialbuys and could disappear soon.

There also isn’t a massive range of branded Easter eggs at Aldi so you’re only better off going here if you prefer own-brand chocolate.

Asda is also selling eggs from £1.25 but with a few two for £2 deals as well.

But most 182g large eggs – not the 212g extra large ones – cost between £3 and £5 at most major supermarkets.

So you’re better off visiting Home Bargains to get more chocolate for less.

If you’re after something specific it might be worth calling up your local store first to see if they have it.

Morrisons is selling small and medium-sized eggs for a little more than other supermarkets, costing £1.50 and £3.25 respectively.

The supermarket chain has a variety of eggs on offer though, including Cadbury Wispa, Maltesers, Galaxy and Cadbury Fingers.
