The chain, which currently has around 350 stores in the UK already, is eyeing up over 28 new sites, according to The Evening Standard.

These include spots in Archway, Barnet, Elephant and Castle, and Upminster.

TK Maxx has reportedly shared a list of locations in London with retail property agents were it’s considering opening stores.

It already has 58 in the capital and the new shops would increase its presence in the city centre including Holborn and Notting Hill.

The site requirements from TK Maxx are said to be for 10,000 to 30,000 square feet of space.

TK Maxx is known for its bargain prices and major discounts on designer items, so this will be welcome news for shoppers.

The Sun has contacted TK Maxx for comment.

The plans come after The Sun reported that the bargain shop was closing, relocating and opening a handful of stores.

Swansea‘s Homesense, a furniture focused shop owned by TK Maxx, is being relocated from Parc Fforestfach.

Meanwhile TK Maxx is opening a brand new store in Workington’s former Debenhams as well as a new store in Llanelli.

And Homesense will open a brand new store in Llanelli right beside the planned TK Maxx.

No opening date has been confirmed yet for the new stores.

It comes after a chaotic start to the year on the British high street with several retailers shutting stores.

B&MBoots and B&Q are just some of the chains who have been feeling the pinch of rising costs and having to close stores.

While, stationery chain Paperchase fell into administration in January, causing it close 106 stores.

We’ve rounded up the full list of shops which will be closing this month alone.

But, some retailers have already revealed that they too will be opening shops in 2023.

Most recently, Poundland has confirmed exact opening dates for four new stores across the UK.

And, bargain supermarket Aldi will be opening the doors of nine shops across the country by the end of the year.

Meanwhile in the food and drink sector, coffee giant Starbucks is to open 100 new branches in the UK in 2023.

Bakery chain Greggs is set to open 150 new branches this year after opening a record 186 new stores in 2022.

Plus, Wagamama fans will be thrilled to know that the company is planning on opening more sites in the UK.
