Deliveries for some Nordmann Fir Christmas trees are as early as 22 November, so there’s no time to waste.

If you’re unsure about whether to get an authentic fir Christmas tree, researchers from Surrey University say that they could help relieve stress.

If you’re unsure about whether you can buy a 6ft Christmas tree, some retailers such as B&Q and Bloom and Wild have other alternatives. 

A real Christmas tree lasts for around four to five weeks, depending on how you care for it.

Prices start from £39.99 for a 3ft Nordmann Fire – a tree that is grown in England. 

This tree has soft needles that hold well and is considered safe for families. It also has tiered branches to keep decorations nice and secure. 

If you buy from Primrose, your Christmas tree will be delivered 24 hours after it is cut down, meaning you get it as fresh as possible. This will help it last longer in your home. 

Delivery costs £9.99 – customers can choose which week they can have their tree delivered between November 22 and December 10.

You need to water this Christmas tree once a day, especially during the first week it is in your home.

Another Nordmann Fir, this type of tree is said to have been growing for 12 to 14 years in the UK. 

Every year, while growing, the trees are pruned, shaped and handles and protected from pests and disease. 

Prices start from £25 for a real Christmas tree sized at 140cm. The tallest Christmas tree on offer from Wilko is 7-8 ft, which you can buy for £85.

Some of the Christmas trees can be delivered as early as 25 November. 

Home delivery starts at £5 with heavier goods £12 to deliver – next day delivery costs £8.

Grown in the Scottish borders on a farm, John Lewis’ Nordmann Firs are grown for 10 years before being sold to customers. 

The tallest tree the brand sells is an 8ft Christmas tree and prices start from £75 for a 5ft real Christmas tree.

John Lewis also sells Fraser Fir and Korean Fire Christmas trees – prices for both starts at £79.

The Korean Fir is a rarer Christmas tree in the UK. The needles are mid-green, with a silvery underside, short and flattened, and very soft to the touch.

They also have excellent needle retention.

Standard deliveries are 14 days from the day of order. If you order today (16 November) the earliest it will arrive is 2 December. 

John Lewis offers free standard delivery and returns until January 22, 2022.

The smallest tree available for Yorkshire Trading Co. is 4ft and the tallest is 7ft. Prices for Christmas trees start at £29.99 for 4ft. 

Pre-orders are being taken for delivery on 22 November, meaning you could have your Christmas tree in your home as early as next week.

Pines and Needles offer trees as little as 3ft through to 12 ft. It also offers over 12ft Christmas trees, but these are handled by a specialist team within the company. 

The tallest tree delivery for outside of London – mainland UK – is 12 ft and is delivered by courier. 

Prices start as little as £41.95 for a 3ft tree and range through to £214.95 for 12 ft. 

Christmas trees also come with a water-holding Christmas tree stand, which will help keep it in pristine condition.

Budget delivery to home in London is £16.95.

Time slot delivery bookings before 12:30 pm cost £30.95 for mainland UK.

Other retailers offering smaller than 6ft Christmas trees include B&Q and Bloom and Wild. 

B&Q sells potted Christmas trees as small as 80 cm for £27. The larger Christmas tree they sell, according to its website, is 150 cm. 

If you don’t have room for a large Christmas tree this year, but still want the smell of fir in your living room, Bloom and Wild is selling a desk-sized Christmas tree.
