Fidget spinner case

The fidget spinner craze may be long gone, but this AirPods case from Air Vinyl Design may well revive it.

The Zenpod covering wraps around your charging case and features steel bearings that allow you to flick your gadget to send it on a satisfying spin.

At $25 (£18), the leather add-on won’t break the bank and is sure to keep you entertained for hours (okay, maybe minutes).

Air Vinyl Design ships internationally although this will add a fair bit to what you pay.

One of the biggest complaints made about AirPods is that they feel a little loose in the ears.

This is particularly a problem for people who want to wear them on a run, or while pumping iron at the gym.

Apple addressed this issue with 2019’s AirPods Pro, which added a rubberised tip that lodges in your lug holes a little better.

However, for those of us still using older (and cheaper) models of the earphones, there is an easy solution.

Ear-tips with silicon hooks are a handy accessory if you struggles to keep your AirPods in your lug holes

A handful of companies have released silicon ear-tips featuring a comfortable hook that wraps around your ear.

The tips stick onto the speaker end of your AirPods and help to give them a little more stability during rigorous activity.

Two popular options are the EarBuddyz Ultra ($14/£19) and the AHASTYLE Ear Hooks Covers (£9/$12).

Alternatively, you could simply buy earphones with the hooks included, like the Powerbeats Pro.

Apple wireless charging case

Drag yourself into the 21st Century with a wireless charging case from Apple.

As the name suggests, they let you juice up your earphones without the need for a cable – though you will need a wireless charging pad.

Before you wade head first into the world of wireless cases, however, it’s a good idea to make sure you’ve not already got one.

All AirPods have shipped with a wireless charging case since the launch of Apple’s second generation earphones.

That means if you’ve bought a brand new pair of AirPods or AirPods Pro since March 2019, you’ve almost certainly got a wireless charging case.

Those of you still clinging to your first-gen AirPods will have to shell out £79 for a case on Apple’s website.

Cleaning kit

If – like me – you’re a bit of a clean freak, then your AirPods’ frustrating knack for collecting dust and ear gunk will give you a headache.

Step in AirPods cleaning kits (yes, really) that feature an array of tools to keep your earphones gleaning like your pearly whites.

Packs are inexpensive and offer everything from a simple cloth and spray to cotton buds for scrubbing those hard-to-reach areas.

This one from CleanPods (£14/$20) even features an air blower so you can blast away muck without getting your hands dirty.

Of course, you could just spruce up your gadget with a bit of blue tac or PlayDoh, but where’s the fun in that?

Anti-loss neck band

If you’re worried about losing your Apple earphones, you may want to check out this strap from Likday.

It’s a silicon cable that connects to your AirPods and sits comfortably on the back of your neck.

That means that you AirPods are kept safe and sound whenever they drop out of your ears as your jostle for the next bus.

At £7 ($10), buying a strap will hardly break the bank, though they do mean your earphones cease to be truly “wireless”.
