THE BAFTA Games Awards are the biggest award show for gaming in the UK, and all of the nominees have just been announced.

Much like in other award shows, Baldur’s Gate 3 received the most award nominations, with 10 in total.

2024 BAFTA Games Awards: all nominees and predicted winners

Best Game

It may be a bit of a cliché, but like for the other awards, we predict that Baldur’s Gate 3 will take this show too.

There are some great British games this year, but we think Viewfinder’s innovative design will help it win this one.

  • Cassette Beasts
  • Dead Island 2
  • Disney Illusion Island

  • Viewfinder
  • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin

Best Technical Achievement

All of these games are technically impressive, but the physics of Tears of the Kingdom’s open world will likely swing this vote.

  • Alan Wake 2
  • Final Fantasy 16
  • Horizon Call of the Mountain
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  • Starfield

  • Cocoon
  • Dave the Diver
  • Dredge
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  • Viewfinder

Best Animation

With a unique art style and flashy rhythm, we think Hi-Fi Rush deserves this award.

Best Artistic Achievement

While we love Hi-Fi Rush’s art style, the deep moody vibe of Alan Wake 2 makes us think this will win.

  • Alan Wake 2
  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Cocoon
  • Diablo 4
  • Final Fantasy 16
  • Hi-Fi Rush

Best Audio Achievement

As you might expect from a rhythm game, the sound design of Hi-Fi Rush is on point, with everything bouncing to the beat.

Best Music

Shocked that Hi-Fi Rush didn’t get nominated for this one, we think Alan Wake 2 will grab the award instead.

  • Alan Wake 2
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage
  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Best Performer in a Supporting Role

The fandom surrounding director Sam Lake is so strong that we think he’ll take this one despite his short role.

  • Andrew Wincott – Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Debra Wilson – Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
  • Ralph Ineson – Final Fantasy 16
  • Sam Lake – Alan Wake 2
  • Tracy Wiles – Baldur’s Gate 3

Best Performer in a Leading Role

A lot of excellent performances here, but we were enraptured by Neil Newbon’s Astarion.

  • Amelia Tyler – Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Cameron Monaghan – Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
  • Nadji Heter – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  • Neil Newbon – Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Samantha Béart – Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Yuri Lowenthal – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Best Debut Game

As the only game on the list that is also nominated for Best Game, Dave the Diver will likely take this one.

  • Cocoon
  • Dave the Diver
  • Dredge
  • Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical
  • Venba
  • Viewfinder

Best Game Beyond Entertainment

In terms of games that make you think, the language puzzles in Chants of Sennaar helped us realise we should pick up French again.

  • Chants of Sennaar
  • Goodbye Volcano High
  • Tchia
  • Terra Nil
  • Thirsty Suitors
  • Venba

Best Evolving Game

While gamers love all of these titles, Genshin Impact has left the biggest impact on us.

  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Final Fantasy 14
  • Fortnite
  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Genshin Impact
  • No Man’s Sky

Best Family

When it comes to games that families love, Nintendo does it best and Super Mario Bros. Wonder will likely win this one.

  • Cocoon
  • Dave the Diver
  • Disney Illusion Island
  • Hi-Fi Rush
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Best Multiplayer

Everyone loves Baldur’s Gate 3, and it’s even better playing with friends.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  • Diablo 4
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Party Animals
  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder

We also think Dave the Diver will pick up this one, because of its Best Game nomination.

  • Chants of Sennaar
  • Dave the Diver
  • Dredge
  • Hi-Fi Rush
  • Jusant
  • Viewfinder

Player’s Choice

After taking the same award at The Game Awards this year, we think Baldur’s Gate 3 will win this one.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Fortnite
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • Lethal Company
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
