In it, Peake can be seen desperately floating away from the hairy primate.

For those who missed it – or need their memories jogged – all was not as it seemed, thankfully for the safety of crew.

It was actually an epic prank, in a rare moment away from the usual serious work aboard the space station.

And it was all down to astronaut Scott Kelly.

Back in 2016, the American engineer managed to get a gorilla costume onboard the space station.

The suit was sent into space on a resupply mission.

He dressed up and hid in a soft-side storage container that fellow crewmate Tim Peake was busy opening.

Shortly after, the first Brit aboard the space station was seen dashing away in fear, to Scott’s amusement.

Scott – whose twin brother Mark was also an astronaut – did the prank to celebrate his year in space mission.

He actually spent a total of 340 days in space, the equivalent to 5,000 orbits around Earth.

At the time, he tweeted: “Needed a little humor to lighten up a #YearInSpace.

“Go big, or go home. I think I’ll do both. #SpaceApe
