THE weather is getting warmer and with hot weather comes a wave of humidity which can cause the growth of mould in your home.

Excess moisture is a breeding ground for mould and once it grows it’s very hard to get rid of.

If you are looking for a hand tool to tackle excess moisture in your home, look no further than Asda.

Asda is selling a four-pack dehumidifier for just £3 which works out to just 75p each.

Originally the pack was selling for £4 but it has now been reduced.

Similar to electric dehumidifiers, they work by sucking extra moisture out of the air, but these have the bonus of being completely free to run.

These are easy to use you simply peel back the foil, leave the lid on and let them do their thing.

After extended use, you will be able to tell how well the interior dehumidifier is working by how much water it has collected.

The handy tool has received rave reviews online.

One user said: “Nice smelling moisture collectors. They sit nicely on the window ledge and I have no more condensation on my windows anymore. Great in the bathroom.”

“Brilliant couldn’t get them anywhere else,” another said.

A third user said: “These are great. I usually buy smaller ones elsewhere but they had none so tried these. They smell nice as well as taking in moisture.”

A fourth user said: “These are great to trap the condensation, we place two on our long window in the lounge and two each in the bedrooms, they are also great for inside wardrobes too, tried and tested and good.”

You can find your nearest Asda using the store locator tool on its website.

If you are ordering this online you will need to factor in a delivery charge.

Most supermarkets sell these online and in-store for a few bob, Savers even have a deal where you can get three for £2.79, Tesco has also got one for £1.

You might want also to consider an electric dehumidifier they cost between £30 to £300 and you will need to pay a minimum of 8p an hour.

An electric dehumidifier will last a lot longer than a non-electric and will be able to collect more water.

Extreme cases of mould and damp

In extreme cases of dampness and mould, it’s best to keep the windows open to allow airflow, consider using an anti-mould treatment to tackle the problem.

You can seek out an expert and if you are renting speak to your landlord about fixing the issue.

Other ways of solving the problem

It is possible to simply wipe away condensation anytime it appears on your windows.

You’ll want to make sure you have a decent window cleaner and a microfibre cloth.

It’s good to open your windows every day to let fresh air in and keep doors between rooms open.

Ensuring that air continuously circulates through your home will reduce condensation so the mould cannot grow.

You should also open cupboard doors regularly to allow fresh air in to make sure there’s no mould growing inside.

Other things that can help include not leaving your clothes to dry on radiators, and always cooking with ventilation.
